The Joy of Dancing with Evo

Evo plays the auto harp

Evo Bluestein came to our school and taught his folk dance and music units to kinder through sixth grade. It was a wonderful learning experience where the boys and girls learned to be young ladies and young gentleman. While dancing and singing they learned about different cultures, and time periods.Nothing makes learning more fun than integrating the arts!

Here are a few things  my students had to say:

Chey, "I now have something to look forward to every day."

Sam, "Just look at my friends Mrs. Schellenberg, they are so happy!"

Sam said this as he was watching them dance.

We were blessed to have Evo come. Hiis dance residency was paid for by an  "Artist in Residence," grant, from the Visual and Performing Arts Department  of  Fresno County Office of Education.

As conclusion to the dance residency children were invited to the Friday Night Barn Dance, Where families came and danced together. It was a wonderful community building experience! Thank you Evo and Fresno County Office of  Education
