On Sunday January 25th, Child Space Curator, Patricia Semrick, hosted a special reception honoring the artists. Older students who have been in the program for three years proudly presented a concert. Their violin teachers happily played too. It was wonderful to see these young teachers, Mrs. Copeland, Mrs. Semrick and staff of Arte Americas support our visual artists and give up their Sunday to be a part of the event.
Refreshments were provided by Steven Schellenberg, and were greatly appreciated by all.
On Tuesday, January 24th, Mr. Bob Bullwinkle, Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator for Fresno County of office of Education, hosted Fresno Arts Network Meeting at Art Americas. Our young artists and their work were recognized. It was noted that hundreds of people have visited Arte Americas over the past two months and were stunned to find out that the violins were made by 7 and 8 year olds.
Fresno Art Network is an organization made up of business partners, art organizations, and educators. The Fresno Arts Network promotes art education in our city and schools. For more information about them you may visit their website
